Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-28

TipClaro is provided free of charge by Paul Wolfmajer, a natural person (Privatperson) publishing applications under the developer name Wolpa (see Impressum). Address: Forstsiedlung 20, 8074 Raaba-Grambach, Austria. Email: support@wolfmajer.com.

Calculation Helper Only, No Financial or Payment Services

TipClaro is designed exclusively as an everyday utility to assist in calculating tip amounts and splitting restaurant, bar, or group bills among companions.

TipClaro is strictly a mathematical calculation helper. The app provides no financial services, banking features, payment processing, or fund transfers. TipClaro cannot and does not transfer money between individuals or pay merchants. All payments must be settled directly with the service provider or among participants using conventional payment instruments.

Calculation Parameters, Rounding and Currencies

The calculation engine operates strictly according to transparent mathematical rules:

License and Permitted Use

The provider grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable right to install and use TipClaro on your compatible Android devices for lawful private purposes. All rights in the application, design, texts, and source code remain with the provider.

Free Application and Voluntary Contributions

TipClaro is 100% free of charge and contains no advertisements, subscriptions, or paywalls. The PayPal link in the support menu (https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=KGSXU6XYQ6ZKY) enables optional, unconditional contributions. Contributions do not unlock any digital privileges, features, or functionality.

Updates and AppUpdateGate

To ensure security, compliance, and technical stability, the provider may publish updates or temporary maintenance notices via https://tipclaro.wolfmajer.com/app-version.json. TipClaro follows a fail-open principle: without a previously confirmed restriction, network failures do not block the calculator. A previously confirmed restriction remains cached and applies offline until a valid replacement policy lifts it. Offline legal notices and help texts remain accessible directly within the app at all times, even during updates or maintenance.

Warranty and Limitation of Liability

TipClaro is provided free of charge on an "as is" basis. While all calculations are performed with mathematical precision according to your inputs, you remain responsible for verifying bill totals before making payments. The provider is liable without limitation for intent, gross negligence, and injury to life, body, or health. For slight negligence, liability is limited to mandatory statutory obligations. Mandatory consumer protection rights under your local law remain unaffected.

Applicable Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of Austria, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, mandatory statutory consumer protection laws and competent courts of your country of habitual residence remain available to you.
